Nishane Le Petit Prince | Vain & Naïve

A new collection was presented by the Istanbul-based niche fragrance house, Nishane, called ‘Le Petit Prince’ or Little Prince. The collection comprises two new fragrances: B-612 and Vain & Naïve.

My first acquaintance with this brand was through it’s art editions inspired by theatrical shadow plays, called Shadow Trilogy. And my first official acquisition from the brand was Munego, a review of which you can find here.

So it comes with no surprise, when the creative forces behind Nishane announced that new releases were lined up for 2018, it tugged at my heart strings a wee bit.

Little Prince: B-612 and Vain & Naïve

B-612 and Vain & Naïve are inspired by the story of the Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupèrie. B-612 was the name of the asteroid where Little Prince (story’s main protagonist) lived before he set on his quest for exploration.

Nishane’s Vain & Naïve, on the other hand is a tribute to the unique love experienced by the prince with the mysterious rose that sprouted on his planet. As narrated in the novel, it is his love for the rose that brought him joy, pain and heart break as he transitioned through those feelings and phases. It’s more like Nishane’s tribute to a love that will never be forgotten.

About Nishane Vain & Naïve

“This scent has been considered to be a tribute to the each “unique love” ever experienced on earth by the creative directors Murat Katran and Mert Guzel. In the novella we see that the prince’s love for his flower causes him much pain and heartbreak. The flower grows from a strange seed that somehow lands up on the prince’s planet. The first thing we learn about her is that she is beautiful. It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.
