Dubai’s leading luxury fragrance distributor, Das Elite recently announced the launch of La Closerie des Parfums to the gulf market. The event also marked the brand’s first Middle East preview.
Presented by the Panther Group, La Closerie des Parfums is the company’s latest addition to the high-end niche perfumery circuit. And it is through La Closerie, that Valérie Madrid, the daughter and niece of the group’s founders aspires to take her family legacy ahead.
With three years in the making, she worked with seven different perfumers to create her own collection. Valérie selected rose and oud to be the two main pillars for her fragrances.
La Closerie des Parfums comprises of four oud-based and three rose-based fragrances. What makes it truly stand out among other niche houses, is the inclusion of bold spice notes that brings together exotic tastes and preferences from all parts of the world. This, as Valérie says, “is inspired by Bordeaux’s history as a traditional spice port”.
Editorial Favorites ~ La Closerie des Parfums
I’ve always gravitated towards florals, particularly rose-based perfumes, so it comes with no surprise that my heart is set on Rose Bois Muscade. But the other two rose-based fragrances are also very novel. It brings together the essence of Damask roses at a center stage with the extreme contrast of nutmeg. The warm pungency of nutmeg, the wood-amber base and a linear fresh rose accord. Charismatic, powerful yet delicate.
If I had the chance I would buy all three. This is a rare scenario where a perfume is so flawless from the very top all the way down to the base notes. This is one of those fragrances you’d like to test and sample at your own comfort. Lush and elegant.
La Closerie is available at Beautique in Festival City Mall and Bawabat Al Sharq Mall. Also available at Jovoy Paris at Dhs 788 for 100 ml for oud-collection and Dhs 882 for rose-collection.
