So I’ve recently discovered this makeup line (after I did tons of research and reading about it online). I spotted these at Dermalogica’s flagship store in The Dubai Mall, when I went there for a routine facial treatment last month. While most of the reviews online have raved about their pressed powders, blushers and mineral BB cream, I will be sharing mini reviews on some of their other products, which are equally amazing! For those of you who are unaware of the brand, Jane Iredale is a mineral cosmetics brand launched in 1994 and it is one of the few makeup brands that are cruelty-free, with *some vegan-friendly range and uses non-toxic ingredients.
Jane Iredale Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara
What Jane Iredale says about the mascara:
- Well-defined, longer-looking lashes with buildable volume
- Triple-length cellulose fibers add extra length and thickness
- Wand is long stem, ultra-full head with carefully separated bristles
- Contains 50% more product than most mascaras
- Formulated with a blend of seaweed lipids to moisturize and protect lashes
The mascara comes is in a squeeze-type tubular packaging which is very convenient to use. And also note the bristles on the wand! I applied a thin coat (as I would normally do with any other mascara), and then turn the wand and use the tip to give the ends of my lashes an extra lengthening boost. I had to wipe off the excess initially and wait for it to dry out a bit more so it was buildable. I didn’t experience any clumping or smudging after applying two coats on my upper and lower eye lashes.
Jane Iredale Sugar & Butter Lip Exfoliator/Plumper
I have super sensitive lips and tend to use lip balms on-the-go and keep one in my hand bag at all times. While lip scrubs can be easily made at home, this 2-in-1 lip treatment product comes in handy if you’re traveling.
To use the Lip Exfoliator/Plumper:
- Gently exfoliate the dead skin cells with organic brown sugar crystals (which tastes like caramel)
- Then apply the tinted plumper (has a minty, balmy taste with mild tingling sensation)
After application my lips feel smooth, softer and hydrated. The plumper has a faint rose-tinted hue which looks great! I admit, I do find myself reapplying the plumper several times during the day (I just love it!). And this product is gluten-free.
I’ll be reviewing the GreatShape™ Eyebrow Kit once I have had the opportunity to test it. But I’ll leave you with a preview of the palette from the inside. The product comes in a travel-size mirrored compact and contains a highly pigmented powder and a nourishing wax with an angled brush.
Have you used Jane Iredale makeup and do you have any favorites from the range? I’d love to hear your feedback! 🙂
