The house of Guerlain celebrated its 190th anniversary in Dubai, in style! This year, they’ve clocked 190 glorious years of cutting-edge innovation and design marvels with an unrivaled range of skincare, cosmetics and an impressive legacy of fragrance classics.
With over 1,100 fragrance creations and ongoing novelties in cosmetics, Guerlain’s first ode to women and beauty was conceptualized through the bullet lipstick Ne m’oubliez pas in 1870. Following the success of this launch, other products were introduced— including the vintage edition Mitsouko in 1919, Shalimar in 1921, and the legendary, Terracotta powder, which also marked the global trend of bronzed and glowy makeup look.
Likewise, with each passing year, Guerlain breaks all what is know of convention and re-defines the course of glamour, luxury and fragrance.
To mark the house’s 190th anniversary, the French luxury label hosted an exclusive event at Dubai’s ‘La Galerie Nationale’. And to celebrate this special occasion, Guerlain introduced a special and limited edition palette, a new range of lipsticks and lip shimmers, an illuminating/mattifying powder, a limited edition bronzer and also premiered its latest fragrance, Mon Guerlain.
Guerlain Celebrated Its 190th Anniversary In Style, with several limited edition releases
“My invisible tattoo, my fragrance, Mon Guerlain.”
Notes: Bergamot, Carla Lavender, Paradisone , Coumarin, Iris, Vanilla Tahitensis, Sambac Jasmine and Album Sandalwood
Mon Guerlain is a lovely, feminine, soft, sweet floral fragrance. It opens with a musty lavender in it’s top notes with a breezy citrus sparkle– which is both smooth and uplifting. The dry down is mainly lavender, sandalwood and vanilla. The more I wear it, the more I begin to love it!
The Mon Amour perfume bottles were then hand-painted by the on-site artist, Charlotte with one of the four main fragrance notes. I picked Jasmine on mine, and watched her sketch and matte paint it over the glass bottle.
Guerlain Electric Look
For me, this palette was one of the most anticipated Christmas 2018 beauty launches. Electric Look Palette is the 190th anniversary limited edition palette that includes eight eyeshadows and two highlighters.
The textures can be used wet for a more “lustrous result”, or dry for a “natural finish”, allowing you to play with the shades and customize various looks and intensities.
The shades are highly pigmented with a soft, lightly powdery texture that felt smooth to touch and blended out easily. It wore well for six hours on me before fading.
Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick
Formulated with plumping hyaluronic acid spheres, commiphora oil, mango butter and vanilla scent, these iconic Kiss Kiss lipsticks come in two autumnal shades: KissKiss Electric Gold and KissKiss Matte Electric Ruby.
These are created specifically to compliment the new eyeshadow tones. The two shades easily adapt to any skin tone or occasion, and can be worn from midday to midnight.
Rouge G Electric Gold Case
The Christmas 2018 edition of Rouge G’s double mirror case is designed by jeweler Lorenz Bäumer. The majestic shimmering gold-accented leather case is available in a three new shades. The unique case is curated to safely store the lipstick and the packaging is absolutely gorgeous― so fancy and luxe! We love it!
Guerlain Terracotta Electric Light Bronzing Powder
Terracotta Electric Light is the new collector’s item in the Terracotta range. Its formula contains incredibly fine mother-of-pearl, and imitates the dazzling light of skin that has been left silky by the sun.
The powder is housed in a reusable case, with a mirror for touch-ups. Similarly, like all other Guerlain bronzers, it is lightly scented with the signature Terracotta fragrance.
Hope you have enjoyed today’s post and wish you a wonderful weekend!
