About the brand:
Erborian, “Herbs of the Orient”, was born from the meeting of two women with a passion for beauty. Hojung Lee, a Korean scientist, dreams of sharing the world of Korean beauty and beauty products with women across the globe. Katalin Berenyi, a true beauty globetrotter, tirelessly travels the planet, seeking out the beauty secrets and rituals of the countries she visits.
When I was invited to the Erborian press event held at Rixos — The Palm, I was excited to meet the co-founder of the brand, Katalin Berenyi and learn more on her personal take on healthy skincare. We’ve all heard about the 10-step skincare regimen and the sheer dedication of Korean women in maintaining their flawless complexion, so it was interesting for me to see how Erborian as a brand has incorporated those traditional beauty secrets and conceptualized a niche in modern French skincare.
A splash of bougainvillea draped the entrance — the impeccable outdoor arrangements, boho-inspired wall hangings and tapestry, the lush tropical garden overlooking the beach and a skincare booth to test and trial the products, resonated well with all the attendees.
The Erborian anti-aging line includes five products in it’s iconic Bamboo range, which is suitable for all skin types. These are currently available in all the Sephora stores in UAE. Katalin’s favorite four products from her skincare line are: Double Mousse Cleansing Foam, Solid Cleansing Oil, Blanc Essence and the Bamboo Waterlock Mask. It’s remarkable how these four products can come together as an adaptation of the comprehensive Korean beauty rituals.
Personally, I advocate the Japanese approach of double cleansing and was intrigued by the texture of the solid cleansing balm. It’s solid in the tub but melts down to an oil texture once massaged into the skin. It has fresh floral, herbal scent and feels very gentle on the skin.
The CC cream is currently Erborian’s best-seller. What makes it unique is the CC cream’s ability to “adapt” to the skin tone. The product comes out of the tube as a white cream, and then stabilizes into a color match once applied onto the skin.
It helps to even out the skin tone and can also be used as a primer, and as a base under the makeup. This product does contain silicone based polymers. It’s packed with sun protection — UVA/UVB broad spectrum SPF 25, thanks to mineral-based titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Available in two shades.
I’m currently testing the solid cleansing oil and will be sharing the review soon up on my Instagram. Have you had a chance to try any of their products so far? I’d love to hear from you all. 🙂
