Bio-Oil’s New Launch | Dry Skin Gel

World’s best-selling scar and stretch mark oil has upgraded its single-phase formula through emulsification to create a gel-oil hybrid for dry skin. After years of development, the challenge for the brand’s research team was to pioneer a method which would not just replace water with oil, but also retain 50% of original bio-oil activity.

Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel, has substantially higher levels of oil and as a moisturizer, it functions both by the occlusion of skin surface, and via its humectant activity. Together, the combination enhances skin’s water-holding capacity and synergistically alleviates skin’s dryness.

Ingredients & Actives:

Paraffinum Liquidum, Isopropyl Palmitate, Triisononanoin, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Glycerin, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Aqua, Isopropyl Myristate, Urea, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Isostearyl Isostearate, C26-28 Alkyl Dimethicone, Sodium Lactate, Gluconolactone, Sodium PCA, Sodium Hyaluronate, Octyldodecyl PCA, Sucrose Laurate, Sucrose Stearate, Lactic Acid, Lanolin, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Bisabolol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Silica, Glycine Soja Oil, BHT, Retinyl Palmitate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Niacinamide, Linoleic Acid, Linolenic Acid, Tocopherol, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Calendula Officinalis Extract, Rosmarinus Officinalis Leaf Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Parfum, Citronellol, Farnesol, Limonene, Linalool, CI 17200.

The main occlusive actives noted here are liquid parrafin and shea butter which are added considering their notable moisture retention power and to help create a protective layer on the skin. The formula also includes other humectants such as urea, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and glycerine.

Packaging & Application:

The rose-pink moisturizer has a jelly-like consistency and is packaged in a white opaque tub. On application, it easily melts into the skin and forms a thin, clear layer on the surface without leaving behind an oily or sticky residue — making it ideal for both Dubai’s hot summer days and the long, but pleasant winter nights.

Bio-oil’s Dry Skin Gel is both suitable and cost-effective for everyday application, with a little going a long way.

The Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel is on sale now, across all pharmacies in the Emirates, with a 200ml costing AED 75. You can also get a 100ml pack for AED 45 and 5oml for only AED 27.

    Hi Sahar,
    I love reading your blog.

I have had three pregnancies and Bio oil is the only oil I have used in all three and it’s really helped with the stretch marks on my belly and thighs. I’m so ecited about the new gel. Can it also be used during pregnancy?

Hello there! Thank you for the kind words. For pregnancy and stretch marks related concerns, I would recommend you use the oil. This gel-cream is better suited for dry skin and has lesser activity when compared to the oil for alleviating the stretch marks and scar concerns. 🙂
